Dear Family & Friends,

This web page is a dedication to our precious little boy Preston Bradley. He was a beautiful baby born on Monday, August 13, 2007 at 8:44 AM at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas , Texas . He weighed 7 lbs. 13 oz. and 20.3" in length. However, the delivery went very wrong. His heart rate dropped during delivery and he had to be revived three times immediately after he was born. He was without oxygen for 18 to 20 minutes. Later he was flown to Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth , Texas within 6 hours after birth for a special cooling treatment to minimize any further brain damage. During the EEG monitoring at Cook Monday afternoon for a 24 hour period, he had several seizure episodes. From monitoring his conditions, the neurologist and pediatrician told us that he will develop cerebral palsy with 100% certainty; and if he were to live on, he will require breathing and feeding tubes, and very extensive care for the rest of his life. The doctors did try briefly to remove the breathing support from him, but he was not able to sustain his own breathing for very long and they had to put the breathing tube back in. Under the advisement of the doctors at Cook, we decided to remove breathing support and let him go under comfort care on Friday, August 17, 2007 around 9:20 PM. Our little boy hung on for about 20 minutes and passed away peacefully on his own in our arms at 9:39 PM Friday night.

This has been an extraordinary loss for us all. We are still trying to make sense of the whole thing. Preston has meant the world to us and everyone around us. We had hoped to bring him into this world to join us in our adventures and living life to its fullest. We had hoped that we would bring him out to skate with us and enjoy the outdoors the way that we do. We were looking forward to his arrival everyday during the pregnancy. We are still numb and trying to feel our way around this ordeal. All we know is that we love him with all our hearts. During the past several days, we have been trying to figure out what to do and what is the best for him. We miss him very much and appreciate the very little time that we got to spend with him.
